I was surfing around over on Flickr this morning and stumbled onto this awesome Space Invaders shower curtain.

It’s the perfect complement to any video game themed lavatory (you know you want one). It would look great alongside a Mario Kleenex box or with Pac-Man tile work or a Donkey Kong Junior shower for instance.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to purchase one. From everything I have the ability to tell, the design comes from artist Jordi Alacont for a product line called Stickwalls. But there’s no information on where to buy, how much they cost or if this was just a custom one-off. Damned invaders!

[Thanks to the wonders of Google, I got out by black light and DNA analyzer was able to do a little CSI-style detective work and dug up the following details. If you want to try and hunt down a Space Invaders shower curtain for yourself. Stickwalls is based in Mexico and makes a variety of custom vinyl designs. They don’t have an on the internet shop, but can be contacted via e-mail. While you’re at it, ask them about this.]

Samsung introduces S5PC110 and S5PV210 application processors
What are the ideal processor speeds in mobile devices nowadays? About 600 to 700 MHz, right? Samsung has introduced two new application processors this day. The S5PC110 and S5PV210 based on ARM CORTEX A8 both clock at impressive 1GHz. From the today’s Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum in Seoul we know that first samples will crawl out no sooner that December 2009, so we probably won’t be able to buy any of two in a smartphone this year. And while we are on the subject, new ARM CORTEX A8 series are not for mobile phones only.

Of course, 13,000 of those individual items (give or take) will be TV episodes. But don’t worry! Owners of the new portable, set to launch on the first of October, will also have more than two thousand movies to choose from. The important part, of course, is the games–and including the new minis and full retail games, there will be more than 200 games available. Certainly not bad numbers!

For those who prefer to do their purchasing at brick-and-mortar locations, there will also be retail codes for sale that can be redeemed for downloadable content. Of course, after dropping $249 for another PSP, you may be hard-pressed to afford more than a few items right up front.

These paintings by pixel artist Jude Buffum show what happens when cute 80s kids toys take each other on in a battle to the death, Mortal Kombat style. Looks like CareBear has ripped out Teddy Ruxpin’s heart in an awesome finishing move known as the “heart attack”. (also known as the quart of blood technique).

And Rainbow Brite took care of tiny miss Strawberry Shortcake with a firm kick to the neck. And in the words of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs – heads will roll, heads will roll on the floor.

I only wish he had rounded out the collection with a Smurf vs. Smurfette painting, complete with Sub-Zero’s head and spine removal technique. I can dream, can’t I?

You can get your hands on Giclee prints of both for $35 (USD) each over at Jude’s website.

Little Horn speakers pack an audiophile’s wet dream into an elegant form. According to makers Specimen Products, the speakers’ supersized phonograph-like horns “posses a life-like soundstage unlike anything ever heard.” I don’t know what a soundstage is, but it seems that the way the horns are shaped enables lower frequency sound to spread out in a bitchin’ manner. Or something like that.

Each speaker is a whopping 36″ tall. So why are they called Little Horn? Because there’s an XL Horn, 8-feet tall beasts that have earned multi-talented musician Andrew Bird’s approval. Tiny Speaker’s horns are made of fiberglass, while the base – which houses the driver – is made using “heavy, void-free Baltic birch plywood.” Damn all these classy words and their vague meanings. Little Horn speakers are equipped with Fostex full-range drivers, the FE-103E and the FE-108 Sigma.

The regular price of Little Horn Speakers is $1,850 (USD), but you can get them for $1,500 at Specimen Products’ website (Paypal only; contact the company for other payment methods). The speakers come in various colors, but buyers can also specify their own custom colors. Little Horn speakers are compatible with any stereo system, but if you want to pair them with your DAP, Specimen Products recommends that you also get their tube amplifier, pictured above along with a pair of black-and-gold Tiny Horns and a classic black, crappy sounding iPod. The amp will set you back another $2,200, so you superior begin saving now.

NovoThink Solar Surge charger for iPhones and iPods
We got used to see solar chargers appearing all around especially before summer. We’ve seen and reviewed a good slag of them. Mostly, solar chargers require a bit of compromise in day-to-day usage – freedom they offer can be bogged down by taking care of them like leaving the thing in the sun and carrying extra weight. Anyway, here’s a one more solar power gadget, the one for iPhone and iPod this time.
