WMF1 Coffee Pad

The WMF1 Coffee Pad takes a single portioned coffee filter and can brew up a fresh cup of Java in about 1 minute. The compact coffee maker features a clean white design, with a choice of four accent colors: kiwi (green), mango (yellow), berry (red) and stone (dark grey). And yes, it includes the perfectly-fitted ceramic mug. The brilliantly minimal design even won a 2007 red dot award for its creators.

At this point, the Coffee Pad is only available in a European 220-volt configuration, so you’ll need a power converter to use it here in the States. It’s available now from French online retailer Singulier for €139 (appx. $198 USD).

Last Saturday, Apple has released their new operating system, the Mac OS X Leopard. (I managed to captured this before it launched haha) It has 300+ new features and it is the most impressive Mac OS X version yet. The highlighted features will be the Time Machine and the desktop Stacks. The Time Machine is the breakthrough automatic backup that’s built right into Mac OS X. It keeps an up-to-date copy of everything on your Mac such as digital photos, music, movies, TV shows, and documents. Now, if you ever have the need, you can easily go back in time to recover anything. Secondly will be the Stacks feature, it organize files in a neat stack on the Dock. One click and the stack springs open, revealing items in an elegant arc or an at-a-glance grid. Videos after the jump.

If you can get your hands on a Rand McNally GPS this Rand McNally GPS Hack will show you how to get the serial data out of it. Since these GPS devices are quite old now they should be quite cheap. Does anyone know of a cheaper serial GPS solution? If so please share it with me. :)

“Buy a RandMcNally GPS for the Palm III from http://www.randmcnally.com The GPS circuit board is held on to the sub circuit board by a to the sub circuit board by a 5 pin header. Since I did not have a big fat solder iron tip, I held my solder iron accross all five pins, and slowly worked the boards apart slightly. When there is enough room, bend the circuit boards back and fourth untill all five pins break. Be carefull not to over stress the circuit board. If you have a better solder iron, or patience with soaking up all the solder you can easily improve this method. I then removed each individual pin that was left broken in each hole.”

You’re sure to make a fashion statement walking down the street wearing one of these. The Snowpulse Life Bag is a special backpack that’s designed to protect hikers in the event of an avalanche.

LifeBag Avalanche Vest

While it may look ridiculous, I suppose that it’s actually a really good idea if you happen to spend a lot of time walking in the mountains. As soon as you hear the rumble of the avalanche, you pull the ripcord and an airbag inflates to cover and protect your head and neck within 3 seconds. It even creates a small air pocket for you in case you’re buried under the rubble.

Sometimes I think I should wear one of these wherever I go. Let’s say you’re walking down a dark alley and a gang of thugs come out of nowhere with a baseball bat. How handy would it be to activate your Life Bag right before they whack you over the head? Take that, thugs!

The Keypad Credit Card, a credit card with a built-in number pad. Yes, this is made for higher security reason. User can enter his or her secret PIN into the card’s keypad to receive a numeric passcode for one-time use. To authorize banking transaction, the passcode is entered into an interface and instantly validated by an authentication server. This process removes the need to enter a PIN into an unsecured device such as a web browser and provides a user-friendly defense against electronic banking fraud.
